As The Greenspire School enters its ninth year, I am honored to be a part of this wonderfully unique educational community.
I bring over two diverse decades of experience in education to Greenspire including classroom instruction, middle and high school principalships, professional development consulting with educators and administrators across the United States and extensive non-profit leadership experience. I have had the privilege of leading both large and small schools and organizations in urban and rural settings and have worked with educators and non-profit leaders throughout the eastern United States.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in political science and a teaching certificate from the University of Michigan. I earned my master’s degree in educational leadership from Eastern Michigan University and enjoy continuing education and professional development wherever I can find it.
I am a proud native of Traverse City and have lived here the majority of my life with the exception of a some fantastic interludes in Ann Arbor, Phoenix and England. I am the proud father of two sons - Noah and Max - who are both attending college. Max is a Greenspire alum and, to this day, evidences the differences a small, caring school community can have on a student. Noah is both an engineering student at UM and a budding entrepreneur.
In addition to my work at Greenspire, I enjoy traveling as much as possible along with politics and history, hiking, biking, reading and - more than anything - time with family and friends.
The Greenspire School aligns perfectly with my educational philosophy, values and passions. I am honored to be a part of this unique and growing educational community.
